Home of the Snake King
| 1994
Whilst walking in the Appalachian Mountains – a range stretching from New York State to Vermont I undertook a walking journey over a 6-month period. Acknowledging my own ‘unknown’ these paintings were inspired by man’s intrusion into so called ‘wilderness’. My role as artist, as witness and my duty to record arose from noticing how development had affected the animal life and at how the indigenous people understood the importance of balance between the animal world and human development.
